Foggy Thermopane & Broken Glass Replacement

When a thermopane fogs up between the panes or the glass cracks, the frame is usually still fine. In most cases we can replace just the sealed glass unit instead of the whole window.

Signs you need this repair

Fog or haze between the panes

The seal has failed and moisture has got inside the unit.

Streaks or water spots you can't clean

Mineral residue left inside the glass by trapped moisture.

Cracked or broken glass

From impact, stress or a shifting frame.

What we do

  • Replacing fogged or failed thermopane (sealed insulated) glass units
  • Broken or cracked glass replacement
  • Glass in casement, sliding, picture and fixed windows
  • Glass in patio doors and door sidelites
  • Assessing whether glass replacement or a new window makes more sense

Why repair instead of replace?

A new sealed unit restores a clear view and insulating value at a fraction of the cost of a full window replacement, and you keep the frame and trim you already have.

Questions we often get

Can you replace just the glass, not the whole window?

Usually, yes. If the frame and sash are in good shape, we measure and order a new sealed unit to fit, then install it in your existing window.

Can foggy windows be cleaned or defogged instead?

Fog between the panes is inside the sealed unit, so it can't be cleaned from either side. Replacing the unit is the reliable fix.

How long does it take?

We measure first, then the new glass unit is made to size. Installation itself is usually quick and easy.
